A man who was partial to gin
Wouldn’t change but just grinned
What do I care
This is my fare
No one’s bother of how I’ve sinned

A fellow was trying to lead
A gang wrought with misdeeds
Tried his best
In his quest
But realized he’s ill equipped

A man who was terribly high
Often got very randy on the sly
Stalked his conquests
But at his own behest
One black eye should've been enough...lol
ReplyDeleteNice character sketches of... always wanted a chance to use this word.... N'er-do-wells!
ReplyDeletehahaha oh that last one was the best
ReplyDeleteI guess the blackeye was just a test
Wanted to push his luck
Get a umm duck
And received a black eye nest
yeah i like that last one...maybe that was his just desserts you know...some people never learn...smiles...
ReplyDeleteLots of real life parallels in your humor, Hank. I'm laughing, especially at the 'on the sly' part.

You're making good progress with those limericks, Hank. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI always count off the syllables and the word stresses on my fingers when I write limericks. A little bit like adding 2+2, but I find it keeps the rhythm and the rhyme in the right place.

Thanks so much for your fun contributions to my Limerick-Offs!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it. Very good limericks ~
ReplyDeleteAh, so they say randy in your land, too. Good on you, Mate. Tho you are not in Australia, as the previous comment would suggest. You are in Samoa, I think? Or The Phillipines? And now.... a limerick on the spot for YOU...

Dear Leo,
ReplyDeleteI couldn't access your Rhyme and Reason without registering my email or something. I've posted my response here which I hope you get to see.

"There are times in our life where things just don't click. That is true Leo! But the ups and downs make it all the more interesting. You cleverly brought it out in the open. Many can relate to it and know that they are not the only ones who have to suffer. We find solace in numbers
Hank"

ReplyDeleteNice limericks, Hank. Putting them together makes a neat trio. All mixed up guys.
ReplyDeleteWriting limericks is fun. They are also fun to read. I haven't written one for quite a while.
