What pleasure they missed

Image: Very much like the
edible local species (here)

Mountain of mud-snails
Sandwiched among fish offered
for gourmet’s palate

Edible ones sought
Not filling but fulfilling
Not for the squeamish

Rare commodity
But discarded by many
What pleasure they missed

Buson's  mud-snails
