Rooster cocks its head
Musical interlude starts
Signals a new day

Breaks the dawn’s silence
Others are quick to follow
Melodious mornings

Regal in bearing
Chicken or egg not to ask
Nothing to dispute

  1. This is so true & you can rightly tell it, Hank! Always a good start in the morning to be awakened by the cock-a-doodle-doos of the roosters around. Lovely Haikus!
