Recuperating

Image: Shadah resting after surgery
Anna hosting at d’Verse had suggested writing on a high and low of poetic art and culture. Not strictly to the prompt here but I'm really on a high and low.

On extreme high now,
To Providence, extremely
thankful and grateful

On low last week, slow
on comments and response, to
seek apologies

My loving wife Shadah had a minor surgery done on Nov. 1st.  It was scheduled earlier on 23rd Oct but brought back to the later date. When I enquired last week how risky it would be, I was given the classic answer, ‘any surgery is risky’ ( it left a lump in my throat )

The procedure took about 2 hrs and everything’s just fine now!  We wish to thank God the AlMighty and most Merciful for having protected us in our moments of concern and moments of need  And Datuk Dr R and his team did a splendid job. We are extremely grateful.  Shadah was discharged today. We are back home now!

    1. Thanks Brian! Shadah had been going for tests for a few days last week. I was communicating to and fro to the hosp. I'm glad she's all ok now. The physical and emotional healing phase is currently in place. The hosp is great for its support and so also you and the rest of the community here. The burden is a lot lighter now!

  6. Just a busybody chanced by here...
Good to know Shadah is recovering well and no problemos. I can imagine your anxiety, and worries. She too.
Anyway, now nothing like lots of TLC to quicken her back to full recover.
My best regards to Shadah, you too.
Tell Shadah to keep a song in her heart.

    1. Drop by anytime Uncle Lee! Shadah is ok now. Thanks! I'll tell her so. A song in the heart is mesmerizing and it lingers on, certainly!

  7. Oh, Hank, I'm so happy for you and Shadah. There's nothing like coming home after something like this. My husband had surgery in August, and was in the hospital for 8 days. I stayed in a hotel nearby, and had our dog with me so that I wouldn't get depressed.
I just know you're taking good care of Shadah now that she's home. Love and best wishes to both of you, my friend.

    1. How nice of you, Kay! It's a sacrifice one wants to extend. I was lucky there was a cabinet bed in the room (a spouse's bed according to the nurses) I was sleeping there in the night as Shadah experienced stiffness and couldn't move. It would have been a bother to call the nurse every time. Thanks Kay! You're taking good care of hubby too! That's great Ma'am!
