    1. Funny enough many love the sport. Spectators flocked to see. On TV everything seemed real but many feel these are faked. I never knew it could be hurting.

  2. I used to watch it on television too for a time...the performances, I mean. It was almost like a soap opera with the 'good guys' and the 'bad guys.' One of my daughters had a major crush on one of the wrestlers for a while. Wish I could remember his name now! Your poem tweaked some memories, Hank.

    1. That's nice Mary! It was fun watching in the beginning. After a while the excitement waned. Glad it brought back memories to you.

  3. I used to watch it on tv, when it was actually entertaining, but the stuff those guys go through, injuries and grueling schedule, no way would I want that.

    1. After a while it was not entertaining anymore. Especially one gets put off by prospects of injury.

  9. I'm leery of physical contact sports...had to nurse a 14 year old with a broken neck when I was a young nurse...good representation, though.

  15. I am not much of a wrestling fan, but you've really outdone yourself with the freestyle theme! It's perfect!

  16. The Greco-Roman style interests me, not that I'm about to fancy pinning someone down, but you sooo nailed the freestyle theme, Hank.

  17. This is a great description of a real sport, Hank, which boxing to me is not. Wrestling involves balance, coordination, and offers only penalties to those who abuse the opponent. A noble sport indeed! Thanks for reminding me. Amy
