The Lull before the Storm - a Quadrille

                                                                              Attribution: Herbert Basedow (1919)
Image: False sense of security
for the deprived (here)

Lulling himself to sleep
Lulled in all softness
Beauty of innocence
Lulled into a false
sense of security

Not stressful nor uncommon
The lull before the storm
Blessings for a good being
but as a deprived soul he would
be jolted into cruel reality
(44 words)

For Bjorn's Quadrill at d'Verse  -
to include the word  lull

  1. Sweet sweet picture. Ah.....I can't help it....I'm hoping this little one is not jolted too much by reality. Rather I wish for this babe a warm set of arms to wrap around him, and protect him.

  2. Can't we just let him keep sleeping and avoid the storm? Peace, Linda

  6. I can't help but think of that when I see a baby or small child--what awaits him down the road?

  9. This scene is common in our country and we have been so wired for all this that as if nothing matters. But this is an eye opener and one should care for the downtrodden people.

  11. Not all at once though, I hope. Give the babe a chance to be a child first.

  15. Yes, life can be/is cruel to so many. Too often we forget how fortunate we are in this country. Makes one want to make sandwiches for the homeless.

  16. Sad stuff. The picture breaks my heart, in so many ways. A great pairing.

  17. A "deprived soul"...we are so quick to adhere labels to others. I will send him my best wishes for a blessed life. We have no idea of what greatness awaits him.

  18. You said so much with "beauty of innocence". If only we could protect ALL of them from a cruel world. A child's brain has the most plasticity between the age of 0-2. These very early experiences set the stage. Sometimes it seems as though "his" future is in our hands. If we truly came together as one world, would we be able to change his trajectory? Questions to ponder...

    from Heaven's
    birth.. Death
    comes..

    breathes
    floWers
