FB

Image by Farmville through Google Images

FAD

FB where’s the beef
Lately some changes made
Some expressed opinions on this
On the other hand some are not bothered

Sure, it intruded unto our lives
Facing the screen for hours
We no longer socialize
We hate meeting and conversing with friends
Life is just not the same

Sure, we prefer to poke or like or comment
Better yet to check on Farmville
In the early mornings
To start crop planting
To make sure it’s completed
So as to resume during lunch-time

Sure, we just can’t help it
We are now addicts
It’s not a fad
We’re addicted
Termed FAD by the doctor
Facebook Addiction Disorder
We’re to seek medical advice
A move considered wise
Remember it’s a FAD
We’ve been had

  2. I like your poem. I hit and run on FB. It is still the best way to keep in touch with real life friends.

    1. Yes, I used to connect with nephews and nieces. Though lately It tapered off as matters of interests somehow differ.

  4. Besides my face it facts page
That I use to show off the acts in my cage
Nothing else is done by me on the stupid thing
Not that I ever really did give facebook much of a ring
    So no FAD for me
    Yipeee!

  5. I'm not on there. But I'm not super "friendy" so...

I prefer being addicted to reading(as in books). ~Mary

  8. My husband spends more time on FB than I do, because all his former students are friending him. So funny.
I often forget to look at it from one day to the next, and remember when he says, "Did you see the picture I posted?" so I have to look. It's like a having a kid.
I know what addiction is, however, and I am not addicted to FB. To blogging, perhaps, but not to FB. When I had a PC, I was addicted to playing Freecell, but it's no fun on a Mac.
Good to see you on WWR, Hank.

    1. At least you are prompted towards FB,Kay! That is a saving clause to be informed. I'm not with FB most times as I communicate with nephews and nieces. Their interests differ from mine.

  11. I have FB but don't farm. In fact I don't spend much time on it.

I like those post tsunami homes below. They remind me of some quick neighborhoods built around here.

    1. Jim,
The tsunami homes look chic. The same cannot be said of the trauma of the those living there now.

  12. Hello Hank. Happy Saturday!
Haha...looks like you struck a nerve! I used to only use FB purely for my blog posts. Then I was added to some groups and now it seems I've got friend requests coming out of the blue from people I don't know or who don't even have any mutual friends. It is becoming overwhelming trying to keep up with all the notifications. I'd say people LIVE on FB. I'm with BragonDorn, I've got BAD (Blogger Addiction Disorder), since that is where my poetry lives & therefore my heart & soul.

    Enjoyable post.
Thanks for sharing. Appreciate the visit too.

  14. Fun and true. It's the apps that really hook me. I never did much with Farmville, but was super-addicted to Superpoke Pets.
