On a silver platter in unusual fashion

Best choice as of the waters' token
Array of offerings to test with relish
On a silver platter in unusual fashion
An angler's delight, what a dish!

A dash of lime a clove of garlic
Whet the appetite in simple measures
Nothing spectacular just a wayward chick
Dreams of a quick fix for a connoisseur

  3. Quite an unusual pairing of images in this verse too. How long does this relish last? I wonder. Very interesting. :-)

  10. There seemed to be something delightfully old fashioned with the use of the old colloquialism "what a dish!" that played so well with some of the more surreal aspects of the poem. This was a very fun piece.
