Lonely Lighthouse Keeper

                                                                               Hank's Acrylic Painting
Image: The Twilight Zone

The impending dark
Preceding a gap of relative calm
Twilight soothes the heart
When mother birds come
home to roost
The cool breeze succumbs
To  a lonely being in a lighthouse

One of a dedication
Taking a responsibility
Not very often
Accepted by others willingly

None had been said
Of a keeper with a wife?

  3. I don't know how a lighthouse keeper can do his job...really must take a lot of dedication, with or without a wife!

  10. Love the vibrant red! I have visited many of the lighthouses here in NC. One that seemed pretty close to the town and had a family and lots of visitors was one stationed at Hatteras Island. Google it as it is a beauty.

  18. This is very ethereal in image and word. You have totally captured the emotion of solitude found in a lighthouse and it's keeper. Love it!
