Power comes with Responsibility

                                                                                    Attribution: George Chemilevsky
Image: Power Thrust unto the Female Species (here)
(Female xantho poressa crab at spawning
time, carrying eggs under her abdomen)

Power thrust unto them
Politicians, newspaper editors
husbands and mothers
Pray uphold for the many
who are weak and helpless
Not to further make life
miserable for the deprived
Those powerful seem to forget
power entrusted upon them
comes with responsibility

'newspaper' in not more than 41 words

  2. Let us pray! Neat illustration. I read the poem in three parts and then realized the order is interchangeable. Very fine!

    1. Did not realize that Susan. The point is power in whoever's hands must be handled with care. You saw that. Thanks for your insightful analysis!
